Come to Aspen/Snowmass for a fun filled week of events to celebrate Gay & Lesbian Ski Week. It is a full week of skiing and snowboarding on four of Colorado's superb mountains. Not to mention all the events that are in store when you arrive such as, daily apres-ski parties, fabulous nighttime events with world class DJ's, comedy night, downhill costume party and more.
Aspen Gay Ski Week 2010 was fabulous, with a line-up that proved to be one of our best in years! It was our 33rd year and we had the best time ever, see this past year's line up below.
Sunday, January 17, 2010 Opening Cocktail Party and Fashion Show TheHotel Jerome, a proud sponsor of Aspen Gay Ski Weeks invites you to start your memorable week in true Aspen style at the opening night party Sunday January 17th 8pm to 12am. Dance the night away and meet your new best friends for the week, all in the comfort of our Grand Ballroom, Ice Bar and infamous J Bar. Come early as this will be the opening party to remember! Friday, January 22, 2010 Downhill Costume Competition This is such a popular event with our participants and locals alike. Compete in the Downhill Costume Contest and try for the grand prize of $1000 in cash and prizes. Or buy a table and have a real sit down. OR both! You can pick up some last minute costumes on the 2nd floor of Carl’s Pharmacy on Main Street, next to the Hotel Jerome. It’s more fun to participate than sit and watch so go to the website or Hospitality/Registration Suite to pick up an application so that you can both PLAY and WATCH!
Friday Night, January 22, 2010 Enchanted Forest: an Evening of Tramps, Trolls and Fairies This is the party of the week, get out your lumberjack or jumberjane outfit..put on some fairy wings or your best tramp outfit and join us as we come together for the Bud Light Dance Party at the Aspen Meadows with DJ Dan Murphy from Sydney Australia...get ready to party! Saturday, January 23, 2010 Pool Party One of our most popular events! We promise you a night to remember (if you can the next day!) See if you can make it all the way down the waterslide without spilling a drop of your martini! Be sure and bring a suit! Swoosh down the slide or grab a floatie and head down the "lazy river" drinks in hand. They’ll be a DJ for some musical accompaniment to your time in the hot tub or boards! See General Info section to arrange transportation. Ride the bus—all the cool kids will! Tickets are available at the event. Tickets are $95 (they will be $100 at the door)
Everyday Dining Extravaganza Friendship Dinners We’ve got some of Aspen’s finest restaurants lined up so by the end of the week you’ll have sampled some of the best meals in the country. See program and calendar for more details and a schedule and description of the participating restaurants.
Meet on the Mountain Meet up w/ some locals for a tour or find your companion for a day of the country’s best skiing and snowboarding terrain. There’s a "mountain of the day" so check the calendar of events for details.
Lunch on the Mountain We’ve designated an on mountain restaurant as the official lunch-time spot each day.
Après Ski This daily at the Limelight Lodge will be the place to be each day as the mountain closes and we head into our evening events. Oh, and don’t forget your swimsuit for the twenty person hot tubs at the Limelight Lodge…hot hot hot!
GAY SKI WEEK 2010 EVENT PASSES
Pass holders will receive priority access to all Gay Ski Week (GSW) events and parties. In the event of a sell-out, all pass holders will be admitted and those who remain will be admitted on a one-out, one-in basis. If available, single tickets for individual parties may be purchased at GSW Registration at our Host Hotel the Limelight Lodge (355 S. Monarch Street, Aspen )*. There will also be limited complimentary cocktails at selected parties and events, courtesy of our sponsors. Tickets are available at the event.
Events will include: Snowboarding, skiing, cross country skiing, dining, shopping, dancing, comedy, films, ice skating and more.
