Local Aspen Community
Please Click Here for a list of local activites and things to do while you enjoy your stay here in the Rocky Mountains.
It's here if you know where to look! Although there are no gay or lesbian bars or clubs in Aspen ,there are a ton of places to visit while you are here. Aspen is a mixed bag of granolas, artisans, outdoorsy types, writers, jet setters, and good old-fashioned ski bums. Add to this mix a diverse and eclectic group of gays and lesbians, and then you begin to see Aspen for what it is.
Folks in Aspen are very down to earth, a lot of fun, and very much into the outdoors. In the summer, we bike, hike, climb, take in dance, theatre, classical or jazz concerts, opera in our opera house, and come winter, it is skiing, boarding, x-country skiing, etc. Aspen is a very beautiful place to hang out. There are several hundred self-identified gays and lesbians in our valley. It is a tight knit and wholesome group for the most part. And yes, there are weekly gatherings, parties and we even designate a couple of places where to hang out and meet others.
The RFGLF runs a Community Information Line: 970.925.9249 , or email us at info@gayskiweek.com with your contact information and we will keep you informed through our email list.
